What to Expect
First appointment
We’ll begin by building trust and understanding. We’ll talk about what brought you to counseling, explore current symptoms or concerns, and begin forming a collaborative plan. I’ll also walk you through how sessions work and answer any questions you may have. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—this is about creating a safe space and moving at a pace that feels right for you.
Ongoing sessions
We’ll continue to deepen the therapeutic relationship while working toward your goals. Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes and are tailored to your needs. They may include processing emotions, building coping skills, exploring relational patterns, or navigating life transitions. The overall length and approach to treatment varies and is guided by your goals and the progress we make together.
Art based therapy
Art can be a meaningful way to express and explore experiences that are difficult to put into words. When appropriate, creative processes may be incorporated into sessions as a way to access emotions, build insight, and support healing. Participation is always optional and guided by your comfort level.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help process and reduce distress related to traumatic memories and other painful life experiences. It can be especially helpful for individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, or deeply held negative beliefs.
